Mystery & Mayhem in the Black Hills
Thursday, October 3
Sturgis Public Library

As presenters in the SD Humanities Council's Festival of Books in Deadwood on October 4th and 5th, South Dakota authors Sandra Brannan and Ann Charles will be stopping in Sturgis for a reception and author talk at the Sturgis Public Library on Thursday, October 3rd, from 4:30 to 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to meet these two entertaining gals and learn how they go about the business of writing mysteries.

Sandra Brannan writes of the 'good and scary' (Library Journal) antics of Liv Bergen, setting some of them in the Black Hills, where she lives with her husband Joel and works in the mining business. They have four sons and three grandchildren. Samdra says she "smiles with pride over the journeys of her four sons, doting on her three grandchildren and appreciating all of life's blessings"

Ann Charles is a USA Today bestselling author, who writes three current, on-going series: Deadwood Mysteries, Jackrabbit Junction Mysteries and Dig Site Mysteries - all of which contain adventure, humor, romance and whatever else she can imagine. A member of the Sisters in Crime & Romance writers of America for many moons, she has a BA in English with an emphasis on creative writing from the University of Washington. She and her husband hang out in Arizona with their two children and sassy cats.
